The VVS stands for Vidyavardhaka Sangha and the main aim of this is to provide quality education in the city of Mysore. This VVS was established and came into existence in the year 1949 by great visionaries namely the Late Sahukar Channaiah & Late. K. Puttaswamy who were the Former Minister in the state of Karnataka to impart high quality education in almost all the sections of society. There area around 10 educational institutions from nursing to engineering levels under this sangha. Right now the VVS is under the able leadership of Sri Gundappa Gowda who is the President & Sri P. Vishwanath who is the Secretary. Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering Mysore which is popularly referred to as VVCE came to existence in the year 1997 and is one among the most prestigious engineering colleges in the state of Karnataka. VVCE has grown in a fast way over the years gone by and this college is affiliated to VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) in Belgaum. This is also approved by The AICTE New Delhi and is also recognized by government of Karnataka. The board at the VVCE functions as per the AICTE rules and guidelines under the leadership of Dr. B. Sadashive Gowda who is the principal of the college now. This man is having huge experience in the industry and in the field of education in abroad as well as in India.

For admission in Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering Mysore (VVCE) for B E course the eligibility is as per the Government of Karnataka and AICTE Norms. The student interested in this course must have passed the 2nd year PUC in science or equivalent exam in which English is one of the language and also should have obtained min of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics, Mathematics along with Chemistry/ Biology /Electronics/Computer. It is 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B category. The Qualifying rank in either CET or COMEDK entrance test will also be considered. The college also provides Post Graduate Programs that is M tech in Computer Science, Machine Design and in Signal Processing. Thus students also go in for nri management quota seats with fee structure details.
