Basaveshwar Engineering College Bagalkot came into existence in the year 1963 offering bachelor courses for basic engineering branches like Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineering. Now the college offers degrees for 10 branches and also 10 post graduate programs which include MBA and MCA. This college is aided to government and is affiliated to VTU (Visveswaraiah Technological University) Belgaum in the state of Karnataka. This college is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) New Delhi. As many as 8 departments have been recognized for research work in this college by the university and 5 departments are recognized as QIP centre’s for Ph. D by the AICTE New Delhi. This college has been granted autonomous Status by UGC & VTU in 2007. Since then there is no looking back and the has restructured well along with improving the developments that is required for the institution to grow.
