Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Manipal came into existence in year 1957 and was considered as one of the 1st self-financing private engineering colleges in the nation. It went on growing and improving as the years went on and became one of the known institutions in the state of Karnataka. Later in the year 2000 it became an institute under the Manipal University which was known as Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) in the earlier days. Manipal Institute of Technology offers Bachelors as well as master’s program in the field of engineering. It supports branches like Aeronautical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc. Along with this it also allows carry out part time or full-time research work for the students in the institute. The duration for post-graduate qualification PhD for the students is 3 years that is full time, and for part-time is four years. The college has all the required facilities like canteen where you will get all the required eatables, snacks, etc. It is a nice place to spend good time here with friends. The hostels here are also clean with good food. The hostels are separate for boys as well as girls. The library also has a huge number of books along with technical journals, technical papers, etc.
